Amber Shumeng Zhang
Policy Analyst
Amber is a policy analyst with IISD’s Resilience program. Her work focuses on the intersection between gender equality, social inclusion and climate change.
Prior to joining IISD, Amber worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Global Social Policy at the University of Toronto, where she conducted research on the impact of climate change on Canada’s care economy. She has extensive experience with media-related content and discourse analysis, policy development, and program evaluation. Previously, she has worked at international non-governmental organizations, news media and local civic centres, engaging stakeholders from the United Nations, governments, and the civic society.
Amber has a master’s degree in public policy from the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto and a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Carleton College.
